Review * His Vampire Harem by Lily Harlem
August 14, 2018
He’s special. He just doesn’t know it yet.
Darius Linnet has it all. He’s a top male model, he’s traveled the world, and everyone wants to either be him or be with him.
But would they really want to walk in his shoes? Because when emotions consume him, heated sparks fly. When he sleeps, his dreams take on an other-worldly twist. And his perfect body–sometimes it doesn’t even feel like his own.
Until, that is, he meets a group of sexy, mysterious men who claim they’ve been searching for him for centuries. He’s their savior, apparently, the key to their release from eternal damnation. They love him and they want to show him the pleasure he’s been denying himself. There’s only one problem: Darius’s demon father has other ideas.
Sometimes more is better and in Darius’s case he’s blessed with 4 vampires.
This paranormal story delves into fable, myth and sex. Darius is the savior of the soul for vampires and for this group of men they will do everything in their power to keep him safe and satisfied. Each of the vampires are different, in their station within the group, their sexual needs and attitudes. This combination added a nice flavor to each coupling and kept each of the scenes interesting.
Let me go back to what I just said about scenes. As each vampire meets Darius it is about them getting to know each other, but of course Darius is clueless as to the actual reason. He just knows that he is now having sexual thoughts and turned on by all of this new found attention. This is where the book got a little monotonous though, as each scene felt the same but different and knowing that I would have to go through it 4 times. Thanks to the author on giving the characters such individual personalities to make it interesting enough to get through.
Once all is revealed the book sets up a really good pace. I believe it got sexier and more mysterious as the group adjusts to being together. I enjoyed the aspect of Darius’s Father being a demon, and how Darius fit in to a demon’s master plan. The suspense I could feel in my stomach as our sexy little group closed in on saving their souls with Darius’s help, it was a bit of a nail biter.
All in all I really enjoyed this book as I do with all of Lily’s books. I think she writes a really good MM sex scene and I always enjoy the romantic side of her men.
Just a heads up. If you don’t enjoy reading M/F sex scenes just skip the prologue, I did and I didn’t lose any of the real meaning in the book as I was easily able to fill in the blanks without having to read about it.
