This Rookie Wants My Job… And I Want His Body
Do you know what the worst thing is when you’re a superstar quarterback?
It’s getting an arm injury.
Luckily, I can still play, the pain is tolerable.
But a rookie quarterback who just joined our team is threatening to steal my thunder.
When I see who my new teammate is, I can’t believe my eyes.
It’s the guy me, and my best friend was messing around with a while back.
So we’re not only ex-lovers, but we’re also rivals for the same position.
I swore I’d focus on my game and not mess around with anyone else.
But, I can’t get this guy out of my head.
It looks like I’ll be forced to choose, but, how?
It is my belief that an author needs to tell a story in such a way that it brings the reader into the story itself. The story did not deliver on that anticipation.
The author has this after the title “Gay MMM Football Romance” pretty catchy, it was what caught my eye and had me download the book. There are only 2 characters out of the 4 that truly pertain to this book; Gay and MMM. “Football” can only be used because they were football players, there was no football playing in the book, well the MMM is true. “Romance” is where I was really lost, I felt NOTHING for the characters they felt flat, like non dimensional characters on a black and white page of words.
Like I said in the beginning the author needs to draw the reader into the story. Before this book even starts we are getting into a relationship/hook up that started before this story. There wasn’t anything in this story that told of the attraction that these 3 men had for each other. What was it about Sully and Jett that drew Gabriel to them? What circumstance happened that brought the 3 men together? All of this is missing, these important parts are what would have tied everything together more. As it is the book felt a bit juvenile and quickly thrown together. Great basis for a story just the execution was wrong.
